how are points in Serie A Italian Soccer figured out?

I have watched Italian Serie A soccer for a while, however I still do not understand how points are figured out. Is there some set way of doing it?

   each team plays each other once home and away for a total of 38 games (20 teams in league)

   A team will get: 3 points - a win
   1 point - a draw
   0 points - a defeat

   The winning team at the end of the season (ie one with most point) is preasented with the Serie A cup.

   The top 4 teams will automatically qualify for the next years Champions League.

   well it’s not difficult…probably cos over here tv, newspapers etc talks about football every single moment.
   if it’s a match from the championship u’ll have:
   3 points if u win
   1 for a draw
   0 if u lose
   the match results are written in this way:
   let’s do some examples:
   roma- juve
   roma plays at home, it ends that the winner is roma
   so u’ll find
   roma-juve 1
   1 mean that the home-time win over the guests

   let’s imagine the draw, u’ll find:
   roma-juve X
   this mean that none won

   and let’s imagine that juve(the guests) win
   roma-juve 2
   cos the guests won.

   every single team play once at home and the weekend after he is a guest.
